Create Your Wilderfae
Wilderfae are magical creatures with a unique biological makeup that is something of a mix between animals, plants, insects, and fungi. In this guide, we will show you how you can design a Wilderfae of your own!
Head
-

Face
Your average Wilderfae is born with two eyes, two antennae, a nose, and two sharp, pointed ears, teeth, and a pink tongue.
We welcome stylization of these features and you’re welcome to extend the length of the ears past the default. However, avoid pushing stylistic freedom to make these features look like other existing traits.
-

Antennae
Your Wilderfae must have thin antennae sprouting from somewhere on their forehead or scalp. You're welcome to make them straight, bent, curly or asymmetrical!
They must be visible and can be no longer than the height of your character's head. The tips of the antennae can also be any small, simple shape!
-

Nose
You can choose between one of the two nose options from the example image. Either a small padded animal nose or two nostrils.
The size of the nose can vary but should not be too far beyond the example. You may also depict your character with a snout. However, this should be subtle and cannot drastically change the skull shape.
Eyes
-

White or Black sclera
You have the option of choosing a white or black sclera for your Wilderfae's eyes.
-

White or Black round pupils
You have the option of choosing white or black for your Wilderfae’s round pupils.
-

Iris Color
The iris color must correspond with your character's Iridiseed (see below)
Body
All Wilderfae are small, bipedal, humanoid creatures with no visible genitalia. They are considered a sexless species where individuals choose their own gender identities. The maximum height of a Wilderfae is 5.5 inches tall (13.97 cm) with the minimum being 4 inches (10.16 cm.)
A standard Wilderfae sports three clawed fingers and a thumb on their hands, as well as three clawed toes on their feet. They have digitigrade legs and a thin coat of fur on their bodies. You're welcome to depict your Wilderfae with as much or as little fur as you like, but fur cannot go on the ears.
Wilderfae come in a variety of shapes and colors! Feel free to choose the colors, patterns, and body type that fits your character best!
Iridiseed
As you are designing your Wilderfae, you'll need to decide where their Iridiseed will be placed! All Wilderfae grow from Iridiseeds, which stay attached to their bodies. This is the source of a Wilderfae's life, meaning if they lose their Iridiseed in any way, it could be the end for them.
These seeds are about the size of a Wilderfae's palm and have a teardrop shape. You can place your character's Iridiseed anywhere marked blue in the example image. Meaning this can be on the torso, shoulders, or upper thighs.
-
Iridiseed colors are important!
Iridiseeds can come in an unlimited amount of colors, but choose wisely! The color of your Wilderfae's Iridiseed will determine your eye color!
The eye color needs to match at least one color on the Iridiseed. So if your Iridiseed is blue with green spots, then you can choose between giving your character blue or green eyes only.
Wings
Thin chitinous wings grow from the backs of the Wilderfae and grant them the ability to fly! When in flight, these wings can either remain stationary in motion or flutter like butterfly wings, motioning back and forth. They are not jointed and cannot move like bird wings, so do not depict them bending or folding!
You can design these wings to be any solid shape as long as they are attached to the back and are symmetrical.
The wings cannot be any longer than the height of your Wilderfae's entire body and cannot be any smaller than the Iridiseed.
